This scene always confused me. It's Ziva. She doesn't need to go for the gun. She is more than capable of kicking his ass bare handed. We have seen her take down far more dangerous opponents with far less difficulty.
Two things I don't believe about this scene: 1. Ziva not knocking a guy out in 2-4 blows. She played it like an ordinary cop, not a krav maga trained killer. 2. A revolver firing 7 shots 1 is hardest to believe

And they can be used well to pierce her opponent's foot, and she takes advantage of that. And it's exciting that she waited until she heard the gun cock, but she didn't have to do that. Realistically, she could have attacked 2 seconds earlier when he told her to go into the gated trap.
